A recent visit by members of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Omaha staff has helped clear the way for Montana State Parks to leave Hell Creek. The visit to Fort Peck Reservoir was coordinated by Hank Worsech, the director of Fish, Wildlife & Parks. He is attempting to ensure the Little Shell Chippewa Tribe takes over management of the park north of Jordan. That won’t take place immediately, since the state lease extends for two years with a one-year renewal for two years to ease the transition. The visit by the Corps should also help Hell Creek Marina owners Clint and Deb Thomas renew their lease. The couple have been hamstrung by past violations from the Corps and state.
