A video posted online has drawn a lot of attention because it shows a grizzly bear bluff charging a Yellowstone National Park ranger as he tries to push a crowd of people back. After retreating to his parked pickup, the ranger re-enters the video and fires bean bag rounds, rubber bullets and cracker shells at the big bear to make it retreat. The Park Service said the bear was pursuing a female when crowds got too close, agitating the animal. To see a link to the video and to read more about the park’s response to the issue and some context on the matter, check out my story at https://billingsgazette.com/outdoors/yellowstone-ranger-scares-bear-after-bluff-charge-in-dramatic-video/article_ab4e2bb1-a714-5ab4-b282-0f5b01e497c8.html.
