An incident last month drives home the point that some tourists are clueless when it comes to wildlife. While in Yellowstone National Park taking photographs, Krisztina Gayler came upon a bear jam. Wildlife jams are common in the park. What was unique about this one was how close people were getting to a young grizzly bear. Some people even threw food to the bear out of a car window. Not long afterward, a woman was injured by a bison in Yellowstone. The incidents are reminders that even though animals in the park may seem tame, they are wild and capable of hurting individuals. That’s not good for the humans or the wildlife.
