Ken Coffin To Be Acting Deputy Forest Supervisor; Kathy Minor Heading to Shoshone Forest for a Temporary Assignment

Bozeman, MT- March 20, 2023 – Kathy Minor, Custer Gallatin Deputy Forest Supervisor has accepted a temporary assignment to the Shoshone National Forest as Forest Supervisor beginning March 20th, 2023.  Ken Coffin, Beartooth District Ranger in Red Lodge will be stepping into the Acting Deputy Forest Supervisor behind Kathy.

Ken has been the District Ranger on the Beartooth District since 2015.  Prior to his time on the Custer Gallatin Forest, Ken was a District Ranger on the Blanco Ranger District in Colorado, Bark Beetle Program Coordinator on the White River Forest, and a biologist on the Sitka Ranger District of the Tongass National Forest.

“Ken is passionate about our mission and good stewardship, and cares deeply about our communities and people,” said Mary Erickson, Custer Gallatin Forest Supervisor.  “He has been on the forefront of much of the post-flood recovery work and will continue supporting those efforts in this new role.

The Forest is working on identifying an Acting District Ranger for the Beartooth District behind Ken.  “We are excited for Kathy and this opportunity to support the Shoshone Forest and the communities it serves,” continued Erickson.  “Please join me in congratulating Kathy and welcoming Ken to these new roles.”
