Kathy Nash Presented with Director’s Award at the Annual Regional Lands Meeting

Bozeman, MT June 5, 2023 – Kathy Nash, the Team Lead for the Custer Gallatin National Forest East Side Land Zone, was honored with the respected Director’s Award at the Annual Regional Lands meeting held on May 16th, 2023. Her exceptional leadership, unwavering positivity, and remarkable ability to motivate and inspire her team were key factors that led to her selection as a recipient of this esteemed accolade.

Kathy’s peers recognized her outstanding contributions by nominating her for this award. Her unparalleled communication skills, exceptional decision-making abilities, and determination have played a pivotal role in navigating successful land adjustment projects. Despite time constraints, Kathy has always made a point to engage with her team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.

Expressing her gratitude for the recognition, Kathy remarked, “I was surprised and thrilled to receive the recognition and the kind words. I’m grateful to be part of the Region 1 lands program and continue to be inspired by all the great work that is accomplished.”

One of Kathy’s notable achievements has been spearheading the initiative to organize and digitize land adjustment files throughout the entire zone. Through her tireless efforts, the team has witnessed a significant improvement in file management, resulting in enhanced work efficiency. Moreover, this undertaking has fostered a stronger sense of unity and cooperation within the team, leading to a more productive work environment.

The Annual Regional Lands meeting, held in Ennis, acknowledged a total of four Special Achievement awards: Reality Specialists for the East and West Side Lands Zones and Survey Technician for the East Side Lands Zone. This yearly event serves as a platform to honor individuals who demonstrate exemplary leadership, innovation, and tangible results in the field.
