Oof—nothing like a toddler-sized football standing way too close to a big ‘ol bison to remind us that common sense is, apparently, a type of endangered species. Look, we know you might have already seen this video, and we know that bison are majestic, powerful, and wild animals (yes, they are still considered wild in Yellowstone National Park)—not oversized lawn ornaments for your family to play with and hang out near. But watching that mom stroll her tiny human within head-butting range of a 1,000-pound+ beast is like watching someone juggle chainsaws and wondering what could go wrong. in case you were wondering, the answer is everything!

Then, keep watching, and another lady walks up with a baby in her arms next to the first woman! Yellowstone is not a petting zoo, even though it is pointless to tell people that these days….and bison don’t care how many likes your Instagram post gets—they’ll yeet you into next week if they feel spooked, annoyed, threatened…or for no reason at all. Respect the wildlife. Teach your kids to respect it, too. And maybe, just maybe, more people should TRY (at the very least try!) to keep babies out of the bison punting zone.
