Best Walleye Spots at Fort Peck from Don Wilkins

Best Walleye Spots at Fort Peck from Don Wilkins

The walleye action at Fort Peck remains strong, particularly around the Dam and Duck Creek areas where anglers are finding success in depths ranging from 5 to 20 feet. Don Wilkins reports that Walleye Nation Marble Eye jigs paired with a Keitech 3.5” Swing Impact in Sight Flash have been the hot ticket lately. When the bite turns finicky, a transition to dragging fathead minnows on VMC Mooneye or Walleye Hunter Tackle shiner jigs has been the key to staying productive.

Walleye fishing this past week has been good around the dam and duck creek areas. Walleye Nation’s marble eye jigs and a Kitech 3.5” swing impact sight flash paddletail have worked very well the last couple days. When the bite got tough we switched to dragging fathead minnows on the bottom with VMC Mooneye jigs and Walleye Hunter Tackle shiner jigs

Still picking up some good lakers and northerns trolling Salmo Freediver 12’s and Rapala TD 11’s in 15-30 FOW

Water temps on the north end of the lake ranged from the mid-40’s to upper 30’s. Walleye were scattered out from 5-20 feet.
