Montana's snowpack varies significantly; while overall moisture is above normal in many basins, some areas remain below average. The state may still see beneficial late-season snowfall through April.

Water elevation on Fort Peck Reservoir in Central and Eastern Montana will depend on upcoming moisture levels and water releases from the Fort Peck Dam, alongside precipitation forecasts.

The study analyzed conditions in the north Beaverhead, Anaconda/Pintler and Pioneer Mountain Ranges to estimate outcomes associated with both ground-based and airborne cloud seeding operations in the Big Hole Watershed.

Snowpack across Montana is around 50%-70% of median, well below normal for June 1. This is a drastic drop from May 1 where snowpack was largely 75%-110% of median.
