Bighorn River Fishing Report 9.11.25

Sep-14-25 by Angela Montana

The following report is from Yellowdog Flyfishing:

Flow Data: Bighorn River near St. Xaiver, MT

Fishing has still been good but the dry fly eating fish have been tougher to find. Some terrestrial action can be had cruising an ant or a hopper. PMD’s have faded away and Caddis are hatching sporadically. Tricos coming soon, hopefully. Tie a sowbug on with your caddis nymph and you will likely have a pretty good day. The nymphing has been quite good. Be mindful of weeds linking onto your flies. Subsurface a Black Micro Mayfly, Pearl/ Olive Jiggy Perdigon, Black Zebra Midge, or Tailwater Sowbug have all continued to work great. Streamer fishing has picked up a bit. Sparkle Minnows, Skiddish Smolts, and Swim Coaches have all been productive.
