Hi, it’s ANGIE from Bob Ward & Sons, with winter fishin & stuff in the Butte & Bozeman areas!

Plenty of active ICE fishing in both Butte & Bozeman areas—you know the USUALS, all still offering excellent performance: GEORGETOWN & HYALITE are going strong — a new report from HYALITE this week says to hit the creek-mouths for Brookies galore! We hear Pink, Red or Green Glow Jigs, tipped with Waxworms, Butterworms or Crawlers, are the weapon of choice here! Just be aware that with the snowfall this week, you’ll need your ATV or a snowmobile for PERFECT access! HARRISON LAKE, CLARK CANYON, CANYON FERRY, DELMOE & HEBGEN are all reporting at least 10-12 inches of ice…..go GREEN on your Glo Hooks with a Grub or Crawler tip—we’re still getting reports of couple-pound brookies on GEORGETOWN! It’s snowpacked up HEBGEN way, so bring your ATVs & snowshoes! Use care when negotiating on ICE at any of these places…stay SAFE, folks!

Try a Prices Pacifier or a Mustang Sallie in a size 16 on the GALLATIN right now….it’s time to NYMPH! There are reports of some slush & ice in the river, but most areas are still very accessible. Hit the UPPER MADISON before this area closes until Spring (only one long weekend left!) —use your size 18 Buggers with a Beadhead back! Keep the colors dark on the LOWER MADISON, & try Crayfish, Egghead Stones, or Worms—or head to the BEAVERHEAD & nymph San Juans or Egg Patterns in small sizes….stay right near town on the EAST GALLATIN, & catch those brookies with juicy crawlers!

WOW, is this a SKIERS PARADISE after our weather this week!! BRIDGER has snowpack and powder up to 58”, BIG SKY& MOONLIGHT are up to 80” at the summit, & DISCOVERY has 66” going on! That said, there is an AVALANCHE WARNING in effect for the Bridger Mountains….much of this snowfall was heavy, & given the significant accumulation in a short period, PLEASE use EXTRA caution on all area Ski Hills!

It’s the LAST WEEK of our annual PROGRESSIVE SALE, which means you pay 40% off the lowest marked price of most items in the store, so if you’re BORED of the outdoors (as IF!), stop on in and get Winter Goodies GALORE! When in the BUTTE STORE, get your tickets for the Skyline Sports Banquet on March 9th in Butte! This is always a fun event & you won’t want to miss it! We’ll be back next week with MORE of the latest in sporting!
