Hi, it’s ANGIE from Bob Ward & Sons, with how the fishin’s shaping up in the Butte & Bozeman areas!

SPRING is going to try to come in the next week here, so we can’t say enough about being cautious on the ICE. High spots like GEORGETOWN & HYALITE should be okay with the snow and wind those areas have been getting, but use caution! We’ve heard CLARK CANYON is starting to melt off towards the south, for example! Watch for open water on most lakes in our region! GEORGETOWN’s still keeping pace with Kokanee, just tip your jig with a cocktail shrimp or some white corn! HYALITE’s slushy conditions are frozen again after the storm this week, so get your Glo Hooks on with a rat tail or a worm of your choice!

RIVERWISE, you can’t do much better than on these warmer days….The GALLATIN, the LOWER MADISON & the YELLOWSTONE have been insane with Midges, as well as the BEAVERHEAD…so you have plenty of choice for a GREAT outing! The VALLEY & Cameron’s Bridge seem to be the hottest places on the GAL, we like the LOWER MAD closer to town, and Gardiner on up for the YELLOWSTONE! The BEAVERHEAD is GREAT below CLARK CANYON! Pack your Midges & Gnats for the warm part of the day, & NYMPH with Copper Johns, Clousers Crayfish, Goldenstones or Rusty Orange Rubberlegs in the 16-18 range.

Skiers, dress warm & hit the hills! BRIDGER BOWL, MOONLIGHT & BIG SKY all benefited from the storm this week and are bragging about their powder conditions…the Bridger Beacon on top of the Baxter Hotel in Bozeman is blinking its Powder Light continuously! You wanted snow & now you have it!
