Chancy at Snappy’s in Kalispell says the sloughs off of Flathead River (South Fork shown above) are pretty much open with reports of bass and pike.  Flathead Lake still fishing well for folks who want to troll or jig.   Carpenter Lake is open for trout, Lake Koocanusa for salmon, Noxon is open for Small Mouth bass and pike, Echo Lake is starting to open up, and Smith Lake is open now and and pike should be biting. Bitterroot Lake and Stillwater are still frozen, but Chancy says to be cautious while fishing on the ice.

Leonard says the ice is gone, all over. Folks are elbow to elbow fishing at the BLM boat ramp area on Holter, Willow Creek and the Nilan Reservoir around the dam have been good, but no reports from Bynum.  Lake Francis few reports of trolling and catcing some small northern pike and  walleye. Fresno Reservoir has reports of small walleye.  If you have any questions for Leonard call 406-454-1877 Also remember he does rod and reel repair.
