Angie here, giving you the best of fishing in the HELENA area!

We’ve got your March Browns on the MISSOURI, along with the BWOs going pretty strong, & that’s what we all look forward to in the Spring! Nymphing is hot as well, but it’s the DRIES that are getting all the attention right now! Para Adams, Hi-Vis Midges, Lipstickbutt Blue Winged Olives, and that March Brown Mayfly Pattern are captivating the risers in the shallower areas…14s to 18s are good sizes! There’s some sizzling action in the tributaries, so don’t discount those confluences when you’re on this river! For Nymphing, it’s time to go LESS flashy and stick to medium-range colors like Olives or Tans…Scuds in Beige or Grey are a good go-to! Beadhead Mayflies could do the trick as well! Water levels have come down some, & the weather looks warm w/a couple overcast days next week, so it’s just NOT AN OPTION to miss out!

CANYON FERRY is still hitting well from the docks and shoreline for rainbows, & the Carp Fishing is excellent! Rust & Olive are the colors of choice for the Carp…go crazy with Leeches or Crawlers for the trout along the shore, & we have it on good authority that your catch’ll be better if you stroll along the shore…standing with a rod & bobber just isn’t keeping the fish interested! HAUSER’S still got a lot of Walleye action, especially at the Mouth…go deep with your DARK colors for best success! HOLTER’s picked back up, especially for trout along the shore…& Kokanee Salmon are on the bite up at the HELENA VALLEY REGULATING RESERVOIR…just out of the spawn and looking for food! Try that Wedding Ring with a White Corn backer that we recommended last week!

Take a break and bring Mom into the Helena Bob Wards this weekend for the best selection of ladies fishing gear around…& the most comfortable & attractive fishing apparel ever! Don’t forget to ask about current water conditions and levels…we’ll let you know what works for us! Happy Mother’s Day, friends & we’ll talk again next week!
