Colstrip resident Brent Burton has one of the coolest Jeeps in Montana, a homemade Wrangler TJ four-door with a 500 horsepower Corvette engine. I got to ride in the machine last week in a play area in his father’s backyard and the machine performed impressively as it climbed rock ledges and steep hills with little effort.
Burton will be competing this month in the Top Truck Challenge sponsored by Four Wheeler magazine in California. The 20th anniversary event will include the champions from the past 20 years, plus one other contestant, pitted in challenges like mud pits, hill climbs and pulling contests. Burton won the event in 2006.
