Beartooth Highway Update: Now Open For 2013 Travel Season

Delays earlier in the Memorial Day weekend didn’t look good, but as of lat Saturday the Beartooth Highway is now open for the 2013 travel season.
Travelers to the Highway will find that winter snows remain at higher elevations of the road and should plan on slower driving conditions at high elevations and on Beartooth Pass.  Outdoor adventurers often take advantage of remaining high elevation snows and motorists should watch for traffic parked along the shoulders of the Highway.

A reminder – fast moving high elevation storms are common on the Beartooth Highway this time of year!  While every effort will be made to keep the Highway open, travelers are advised to be weather aware!

More information on this scenic highway can be found at www.beartoothhighway.com or nps.gov/yell, or for current road conditions call 511.
