Unstable air, up drafts, and wind shear; all ingredients for the perfect storm that is predicted to hit southeastern Montana late this afternoon. Severe thundershower warnings have also been issued. The following areas are predicted to be hit the hardest: Carter; Custer; Dawson; Fallon; Powder River; Prairie; Rosebud; Wibaux.

The main threat from these storms will be large hail…damaging winds and very heavy rain. Cannot rule out an isolated tornado given the strong wind shear over the area. A full report on the weather predicted can be found by clicking here.
