Lincoln, Montana will host its second annual Summerfest on Saturday, June 22 from 12-6pm in Hooper Park in downtown Lincoln. The free event is open to all ages and includes food, entertainment and booths and displays on a variety of topics, including living and recreating in bear country.

Participants will have the chance to visit with Montana, Fish, Wildlife, and Parks (FWP), the Wind River Bear Institute and their famous bear dogs, and Be Bear Aware to uncover tips on how make your backyard and campsite bear-resistant, ways to respond in a bear encounter, and how to protect bear attractants with electric fences and bear-resistant garbage cans.

Michele Kegel, volunteer event coordinator, said that this year’s Summerfest lineup also includes booths and displays from the Department of Natural Resources & Conservation (DNRC), the FWP TIP-MONT trailer, local artisans, kids games and activities, music by AJ’s Karaoke, food for purchase, and vehicles from area car clubs.

The event is sponsored by the Lincoln Valley Chamber of Commerce, Lincoln Solid Waste District, Blackfoot Challenge, DNRC, FWP & the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee.
