Flathead Reservation Fish & Wildlife Board to Meet Oct. 16 via Conference Call

The Flathead Reservation Fish and Wildlife Board will meet on Wednesday, October 16 via conference call beginning at 10 a.m. The meeting will address two items in the fishing and bird hunting regulations on the Flathead Reservation:

— $1 across the board fee increase for all licenses;

–Fishing regulation change for Lake Trout: remove the 30-36-inch slot limit restriction and the restriction of only one lake trout over 36 inches. This would be in effect on the south half of Flathead Lake (portion of the lake within the exterior boundaries of the Flathead Indian Reservation).

wildland_pic1Board members will also discuss the size and makeup of the technical committee under the state and tribal agreement.

All interested persons are invited to attend the meeting via conference at Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks.

The Advisory Board is composed of tribal and state members and a representative of the U. S. Fish and Wildlife service. The Board is advisory to the State and Tribes and is responsible for the development of cooperative management plans which include fishing and bird hunting regulations.
