Once again, a group of Montana-based organizations is seeking nominations for the Montana Neighbor Awards.

The awards give recognition to landowners who go the extra mile to work collaboratively with their neighbors and to enhance the sense of community that makes Montana the special place it is.

The Montana Neighbor group includes Artemis Common Ground, The Nature Conservancy of Montana, Montana Farm Bureau, Montana Council of Trout Unlimited, Montana Association of Land Trusts, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, and the Office of the Governor.

Award criteria include: cooperation, neighborly land access, land stewardship and conservation ethic, and community leadership.

An awards committee comprised of the founding organizations will review nominations and select award recipients, who will receive specially-printed and framed Montana Neighbor Award certificates signed by the members of the awards committee and by Montana Governor Steve Bullock.

Nominations must be received by Jan. 1, 2014. Send nominations to: Montana Neighbor Awards, C/O Betty Warren; Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks; P.O. Box 200701, Helena, MT 59620-0701, or email to: betwarren@mt.gov.
