Mountain Man John Perry has this week’s fly fishing report for western Montana rivers:
Fishing is very good now on Missouri, Blackfoot, and Rock Creek. Streamers are working on all rivers, and October caddis patterns as well. Baetis patterns on Missouri. Size 18 and 20 small subtle nymphs dropped off. Oct caddis patterns are very effective on the Missouri-about 50-50 dry/dropper ratio. The rivers are not crowded-great time to fish now.
