banquetThe sportsman banquet season is upon us, and I started my spring banquet lineup by attending the Ravalli County Fish & Wildlife Association banquet on Saturday, February 28th in Hamilton.

It was great to see a lot of familiar faces and also meet new people.  There were quite a few gun raffles, along with a variety of tables with games that offered prizes to the winners.  The plated dinner consisted of rich, seasoned beef sirloin with a side of potatoes cooked with herbs and savory vegetables.  Dessert was a double chocolate dish that topped off the meal perfectly in time for the live auction.

Whether you were interested in supporting the Ravalli County Fish & Wildlife Association by bidding on the amazing live auction items or the silent auction items, there was something for everybody.  DSCF4186The Montana Trappers Association spent $250 on raffles and even won a gift card for Sportsman’s Warehouse, while a couple of people at the table I was seated at bid on and won live and silent auction items.

Overall, it was a really fun event, a great crowd (actually, their largest group of attendees to date–over 300!) and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to support such a fantastic organization by attending their banquet.  You can visit the Ravalli County Fish & Wildlife Association website at www.rvcfwa.org to learn more about the organization, become a member and get more information on upcoming events.

I look forward to next year’s Ravalli County Fish & Wildlife Association banquet, and hopefully you consider checking it out, too!  On to the next banquet…
