The Mack Days Fishing Event on Flathead Lake for 2017 Spring will begin March 17th and end May 14th. Nine weekends of lake trout fishing Friday through Sunday for competition prizes, bonuses and tagged fish. Weekday fishing Tuesday through Thursday will also be included beginning March 21st for tagged lake trout and bonus amounts only. Friday-Sunday fish can be turned in from 9:00am until 9:00 pm whichever comes first-pickup sites and times are listed on the website. The Tuesday-Thursday fish are to be turned in by 6:00 at Blue Bay. Mack Days is sponsored by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes and is sanctioned by Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks. Up to $225,000 in Cash and Prizes sponsored by CSKT will be awarded to anglers on May 14th as incentive to to help reduce the non-native lake trout in Flathead Lake and increase the numbers of native bull trout and westslope cutthroat trout. There will be a $10,000 tagged lake trout, 3-$5,000 tagged lake trout, and 5-$1,000 tagged lake trout and over 6,000 with values from $100-$500. One ticket for every lake trout an angler turns in gives them a chance at winning in the lottery style drawing for cash or one of the many merchandise prizes. An angler can choose how many days they will fish one-or fifty one. Bonus amounts begin once an angler gets to a total of 11 entries. The higher the anglers total at the end of the event-the higher the bonus amount. Top ten angler awards will be given to the top ten anglers who have the best 18 out of a possible 26 Friday-Sunday fishing days excluding the last Sunday which is a separate day with its own prizes. There are prizes for ladies, 70 and Over, youth prizes, weekend prizes, etc. Check them out at www.mackdays.com. All it takes is one fish to win!

New this year will be the requirement that all boats be inspected for Aquatic Invasive Species. Call 406-270-3386 or 406-883-2888 ex. 7294 March 13th-15th to schedule. We cannot accept fish from any boat that has not been inspected. Staff will be on hand at Blue Bay the week before and also all during the Event to do the inspections. March 13,14, 15, 16, and 17th they will be available at Blue Bay. Saturday March 11th at Somers boat ramp from 8-4:30. Protection of the Flathead watershed is very important to the CS & K Tribal government and the Mack Days anglers and we will do our part to help with that protection. Getting your boat inspected at the AIS stations will also work provided you have paperwork done from the inspection.

Entries are taken until the last day of the event-there is a prize that is drawn from qualified entries who have turned in at least one fish during the event and turned in their entry on or before March 15th.
