Clark Fork River Fishing Report by The Kingfisher 7.14.17

The lower river near St. Regis hit the 70 degree mark yesterday and will likely bump that high again today unless we get some cloud cover. It’s not been a huge issue so far, but it’s something to be aware of. The midday fishing continues to be pretty decent, but the blazing sun beating down from above and reflecting back up at you from the water may motivate you to avoid the heat of the day swelter. Early and late fishing has been the best anyway. PMD’s, caddis, Goldenstones, and hoppers are all on the menu. The caddis have been thick in the evening. The fishing remains considerably better from below Missoula all the way to St. Regis than it is on the upper stretches. Have a good weekend!
