The final weeks of summer are upon us and crews will begin closing parts of the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area for the season in upcoming days.
The Billings Gazette reports the Yellowtail Dam Visitor Center is set to close on Tuesday. Campgrounds are open year round but water will be shut off at the Horseshoe Bend Campground on Sept. 18. Fish cleaning stations will also be winterized at that time.
The Horseshoe Bend and Ok-A-Beh marinas will close for the season on Sept. 30. Gasoline will not be available in the recreation area after that point.
