Officials with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks say no adult mussels or larvae were discovered in the state in 2017.

The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports FWP inspected about 73,000 boats this year and found 17 were infested with the invasive mussels. Those boats were mostly coming from the Great Lakes Region.

Paul Sihler, FWP chief of staff, told the Chronicle the lack of mussel discovery in 2017 follows a year when larvae was discovered in both Canyon Ferry and Tiber Reservoirs, the first time mussels were found in the state.
