The purchase of 15 acres along the Yellowstone River adjacent to Billings’ Riverfront Park has neared completion.
Once acquired the land would provide river access for fishing and a new boat ramp, Montana Untamed reported.
The new access site would break up what is currently a lengthy float between access sites. The negotiated price sits at $207,000 but will be closer to $225,000 once all the fees related to the transaction are added. Up to $200,000 will also be spent on developing the property.
Montana Untamed reported Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks previously attempted buying the property in 2011 but was unsuccessful.
