Last week we looked at 2 new cartridges for AR pattern rifles. Here are new rifles chambered in these hot 22s.

Savage® has introduced the MSR15 Valkyrie chambered in the new Federal® 224 Valkyrie with a suggested retail price of $1499. This is a competition ready rifle with a 1:7 twist, 18 inch barrel, 5R rifling, and a two stage trigger. The gun sports an Elite Series Cerakote Upper and Lower, a Hogue® pistol grip, forward assist, and the requisite muzzle brake. Another really nice feature of the rifle is an adjustable mid-length gas block. The gun weighs a bit under 8 pounds and, with the UBR Gen 2 adjustable stock fully extended, is 39 inches long, and is fed by a 25 round detachable magazine. Controls are standard AR and the gun features a full length top rail and free floated handguard with plenty of potential to mount accessories. As you can see from the photos, this is a very attractive rifle at a very attractive price. If you’re looking for lots of horsepower in a centerfire 22, this rifle definitely fills the bill.

CMMG is offering 4 new rifles chambered in 22 Nosler®. Three barrel lengths are offered, two 18 inch, 1 20 inch, and 1 24 inch. MSRP for the rifles are $ 1099.95 for the Mk4S, $ 1199.95 for the Mk4P, $ 1399.95 for the Mk4RCE, and $ 1449.95 for the 24 inch barreled Mk4 V2. All the barrels have a 1:8 twist and are 416 stainless steel. All four guns come with 10 round magazines, 6 position M4 butt stock, and A2 pistol grips. Receivers are forged from 7075-T6 aluminum; the lower is an AR15 type and the upper is an M4 type. CMMG guns are American made, quality firearms available for reasonable money.

These super-fast centerfire 22s give competitors and hunters new options to have fun with. While Savage® and CMMG are leading the way, I’m sure many more manufacturers will offer not only MSRs but other rifles chambered for these new cartridges. You will soon see guns chambered in 224 Valkyrie and 22 Nosler® up and down the firing lines at your local ranges.

Tomorrow is Christmas. I and my family wish all the merriest and happiest of holidays with hopes for a great New Year for everyone. Merry Christmas!

Be safe and good shooting.
