Fishermen:

As the perch spawn approaches they begin to feed more aggressively.  They also begin to school up in a more limited area.  If you can find these spots you are in for a treat of great fishing.  I was out yesterday, January 25, 2018  with Flathead Leader reporter Ashley Fox and we found the perch fishing has steadily improved since ice on out in East Bay (East side of Polson Bay .  WE had one perch right at 12” and 6 more over 11”.  We kept a total of 25 fillet size fish.

As the lake drops and more fish move into this spawning location, other than a short period just after ice off, the fishing should be good all the way into the end of April.

Maybe I’ll see you out there

Good fishing
