We Montanans love to play in the woods. Hiking, hunting, ATV riding, backcountry skiing – no matter the activity we all want a place to play. But as our population grows and more tourists visit, we’re finding more people at boat launches and trailheads. Finding parking can be a pain. So what can we all do – as a group that loves to recreate outdoors –to ease the problems? There are no easy answers, but the downsides to not addressing the problem are heavy, such as reduced bighorn sheep populations.
