Issued by Blase Reardon – Flathead Avalanche Center
WHITEFISH RANGE SWAN RANGE FLATHEAD RANGE AND GLACIER NATIONAL PARK
AN AVALANCHE WATCH IS IN EFFECT until Wednesday at noon. Ch-ch-changes. The avalanche danger is rising as new and drifted snow accumulates. Today you can trigger small avalanches on steep slopes, mostly near ridgelines. Step back and reconsider if you see shooting cracks or feel collapses near steep, open slopes at any elevation. With heavy snow and gusty winds forecast for tonight, dangerous conditions are likely to develop overnight.

The Flathead Avalanche Center states this advisory expired Tuesday, December 11th at 5:23pm, but with winter weather on its way and currently happening in some Montana locations, it’s ALWAYS a good idea to be prepared for an avalanche in backcountry snow regardless of what you’re doing.
