Here’s another message from Cynthia Bras-Benson with Confederated Salish and Kooteni Tribal Fisheries Program:

A path was  cut through the ice Saturday at Yellow Bay allowing access to the lake. It was a little tough at first with lots of ice floating in it. By Sunday it was better and boats were navigating it well.

Blue Bay has a path cut through also but there are boat ramp issues. The lake is down and the end of the ramp has a drop off that would be difficult to drive out of. We will try to address that issue and make it more accessible. You will have to be careful and use caution.

Sorry about not notifying everyone about Yellow Bay being open sooner. I have no internet at Blue Bay. My cell phone would not send out the message.
