Fish, Wildlife and Parks seeks public comment on a proposal to stock tiger muskie in Yellow Water and Big Casino Creek reservoirs in central Montana.

The recreational fisheries at the proposed reservoirs currently have too many non-game species. The goal of the proposed tiger muskie stocking is to provide biological suppression of the non-game fish species.

The proposal is detailed in the Environmental Assessment titled Tiger Muskie Stocking in Yellow Water and Big Casino Creek Reservoirs. The EA summarizes and analyzes the proposed action, identified alternatives, and potential impacts to the physical and human environment.

The EA will be open for public comment until May 17. Copies are available on the Montana FWP website (fwp.mt.gov) and the Lewistown Area Resource Office, located at 333 Airport Road in Lewistown.

For more information, contact Clint Smith, Lewistown Area Fisheries Biologist, at (406) 538-2445 or clsmith@mt.gov.
