Matt McCombs from Mo Fisch Charters found a lot of perch in the belly of some of the lake trout he caught recently on Flathead Lake, and he sent us a photo.  “Only a few will understand the importance of this lake trout’s stomach contents”, wrote McCombs.

What he means by “importance” is that if and when the whitefish begin to bite these little perch, which put the whitefish on a feeding frenzy, they have to be in about 30-50 feet of water on Flathead Lake. Currently, they are deep, and that is why the lake trout are feeding on them.
So, let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope the bite begins soon!
