After many years of research, discussion and revision, the Bureau of Land Management has released details of its proposed Resource Management Plan for the Lewistown area, which actually stretches from the Musselshell River in the east to the Rocky Mountain Front, south of the Missouri River Breaks. That’s a broad swath of land that contains some great habitat for wildlife. So it’s no surprise that two of the largest areas to be managed for wildlife resources were praised by hunting groups. The new management designation is called a Backcountry Conservation Area.
