Big Sky Resort will let golfers take a swing on May 22, the first step in reopening portions of the area to recreation, lodging and dining. The company made the announcement on Thursday, which includes a June 26 opening of three ski lifts for scenic rides and mountain bikers. Big Sky is heavily reliant on tourists, 70% of which come from out of state. So how the resort area will cope with a possible 75% reduction in visitation will be tough.
