Kentucky angler catches record-breaker, almost couldn’t find certified scale

Wolfgang Katzenberg, an angler in Kentucky, had a good catch that set a new record when he reeled in a 9.05-pound saugeye that he thought was a catfish at first.  The catch came from Bullock Pen Lake while Katzenberg was fishing with his son, Geoffrey.  It wasn’t easy for him to get fish in the boat, but he found that finding an officially certified scale to weigh it on proved to be just as challenging.
