On July 9th, Missoula Smokejumper Jackson Spooner, was involved in an accident while parachuting to a fire outside of Pray, Montana. Jackson is currently in the hospital in Billings awaiting surgery. He sustained several injuries, the most serious injury being a fractured pelvis. The doctors are expecting him to fully recover, but it will be a long and painful process. Jackson won’t be able to fight fire the rest of this season which will mean limited income during his recovery. He has shown an incredible amount of heart since the day he showed up to work in Missoula and is the true embodiment of resilience. Any donations to help take some of the burden off him and his family are greatly appreciated!
