Current Conditions:

A full fishing closure is in effect from the Duncan District Road crossing to the confluence with the Beaverhead River. The Ruby is a nice option up near the dam. Look for PMD’s early and Caddis in the evening to be meal of choice. As the river gets further away from the dam, farm irrigation becomes an issue with already low water levels.

The Month Ahead:

The Ruby will be in a mid summer mode all the way into September.  In the fall the fishing is often consistently good with smaller technical nymphs and the occasional hopper action.

Long Term Fishing Forecast:

The Ruby is a nice smaller wade option in October.  The browns get aggressive and the streamer fishing can be solid for medium sized trout up to 20″
