BILLINGS – The five-member Boulder River Advisory Council will meet Thursday, Aug. 19 at the Big Rock Fishing Access Site south of Big Timber. The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m.

The council was formed earlier this summer to consider potential actions pertaining to a petition submitted to the Fish and Wildlife Commission last year. The petition, submitted by landowners along the Boulder River south of Big Timber, seeks to ban motorboats on the river.

While the public is invited to attend the meeting, there will not be any opportunity to participate or provide comment. The opportunity for public comment will be offered at a future commission meeting.

For more information about the council, please contact FWP Operations Sgt. Phillip Kilbreath at 406-444-0136 or pkilbreath@mt.gov.

Please note, meeting location could change in the case of inclement weather.
