Keep in mind that various water bodies across the state are still under hoot owl restrictions, visit MT FWP website to find up to date info before heading out.

Flathead Lake -Still hearing reports of whitefish being caught using Zimmer Tackle Rattle-D-Zastor’s or Trick Tackle’s whitefish jigs, fish are starting to move to the delta as well.

Flathead River – Trout fishing has slowed down a little, people are having the best luck on Panther Martins or Rooster Tails for spin fishing. For the fly fishing get out your purple haze and ant flies.

Flathead River Sloughs – Pike are being caught using smelt on a Hellbender Tackle or Sago’s Tackle pike rigs.

Smith Lake – Lot of smaller pike being caught with spinner baits or smelt.

Echo Lake – Slower than normal bite. Best luck on wacky rig plastic worms for bass, lots of perch being caught.

Thompson Chain – Pike are being caught on smelt and spinner baits, wacky worms for bass.

Murray Lake – Trout being caught off Rapalas, use countdowns to find the water column.

Lake Mary Ronan – Perch being caught off Camp Tuffit. Look to be jigging around 25ft of water.
