Winter is coming up quick, and Bozeman is brimming with amazing and affordable community activities! The docket is full, so we will keep you busy this winter season with kid friendly events, 5k runs, and educational activities. Check out our Top 5  Bozeman Winter Activities below, and let the December adventures begin!

 

SANTA RUN FOR EDUCATION – DECEMBER 4th

If you’re looking for some holiday fun and a workout at the same time, the Santa Run For Education is taking place December 4th and is for such a great cause. This 5k costs $25 for ages 5 to 10 and $35 for 11 and older. Starting at the Babcock behind the Willson Gym at 404 W. Main Street, and ending back on Babcock again. Proceeds from the run are going toward celebrating education and exercise, so make sure to include your school on your application. The prizes are varied, but an award of $500 goes to the top two participating school sponsored clubs or teams. $1000 to the PACs of the top three participating schools! 

 

THE BOZEMAN ICE FESTIVAL – DECEMBER 4TH-DECEMBER 12TH

Enjoy Bozeman’s longest running outdoor festival, it’s going into its 22nd year, which is super cool! Hah! There’s on-ice activities as well as film festivals going on downtown! Climbing through Hyalite Canyon is tradition in Bozeman, and you can be apart of the festivities for only $10.00! 

 

BOZEMAN WINTER MARKET – DECEMBER 18TH

This amazing community event is totally free. The Bozeman Winter Market has everything from produce, art, pastries, crafts and more! This wonderful event has multiple dates throughout the year, but this is the only one in December. For a great way to shop local and involve yourself into your community, the Bozeman Winter Market has what you need!

 

GREAT COOKIE CLIMBATHON – DECEMBER 4TH

 

This fun and delicious event is free with a Spire membership! If you’re participating, grab some pledges from your friends and family per route that you climb. Pledge money, once the event is finished, will go to Montana Mountaineering. Montana Mountaineering works to eliminate financial barriers that block people from their mountain pursuits. Bystanders and climbers alike will have free cookies all day, so this delicious treat with a good cause will be fun for everyone!

 

MUSEUM OF THE ROCKIES – OPEN DAILY, 9AM-5PM

A Smithsonian Affiliate, MOR is a non profit that houses many incredible exhibits and artifacts. MOR is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. This honor is incredibly high, and well deserved. For kiddos and adults alike, this museum has fun for the whole family. From the Siebel Dinosaur Complex to the Enduring Peoples exhibits, exploring MOR will ensure a beautiful day in Bozeman, and you can get a little learning in at the same time!
