Dan Helterline, of Plains, is a legend. Actually, he is known as the king of wolf trapping in this region. He just knows how to get them and even hosts classes to help other wolf trappers and hunters get their own wolves. He just knows what they like….and this year is no exception!
After starting the season with his usual load of coyotes, wolf season is taking off for him. So far, he has two large, beautiful blackies that makes somebody think of the classic rock song Black Betty. I wonder if he sings that song when he sees a black wolf in his trap…….
Anyway, super stoked to see these pictures, as it is always so impressive to see his catches, and we look forward to sharing more this season. I also want to shout out to that awesome whiskey he found. I can only assume it tastes good being that he gets to drink it with these wolves!
Congratulations, Dan, and we can’t wait to see more pictures!
