After starting the Keto lifestyle…yes, it has been about a month and a half now….I started looking for ways to fancy up my food intake.  Well………….I created (I know I’m probably not the only person who stumbled upon this recipe) an AWESOME way to do just that!

I call these Buck Pucks:

Buck Pucks Recipe

Defrost 1 lb. of venison/elk/bison/etc.  Put the meat in a bowl and add:

    • 8 oz of cream cheese
    • a cup of shredded cheddar cheese
    • garlic powder
    • minced garlic
    • one egg
    • crushed red pepper

Hand mix it all so the cream cheese gets mixed throughout the bowl.  Then take a spoon and mix it up even better to evenly spread everything around the meat.

(Our venison from this last season is VERY lean, so the egg helps to hold things together)

Make whichever size pattie you want, and put it in your air fryer (I typically do two fist-sized patties) for 20 minutes

While that is cooking, cut up an avocado into enough bite-size pieces to go with your patties.

Once they are done, grab a side of ranch, mayo or sour cream (keto stuff) and ENJOY!  I sometimes add a side of veggies and always a pickle when I have them. (I just happened to have iceberg lettuce that had to be eaten or tossed)

Now, I have never used a bun for these, as I don’t eat bread anymore, nor do I do bread substitutes at the moment, but the meat alone is like a delicious slab of cheesy meat!  The avocado and the dip (whichever you choose) takes it to the next level!   It is very filling, too, as there are definitely some calories in this because of the cheese.  I have gained weight on Keto, and this is usually about all I eat aside from pickles! lol.  Anyway, it is an awesome, awesome way to eat wild game.  I don’t even use salt, pepper or any type of meat seasoning.  It’s sooo good.  So good.
