Current Conditions:

The Jefferson is currently closed to protect trout from warm water temperatures during low mid summer flows.

The Month Ahead:

As the nights slowly get longer and days shorter water temperatures will begin to cool. By mid September irrigation head gates will close and flows generally rise. Once flows bounce up after irrigation ends and water temperatures cool the Jefferson will likely be a fun late September option. Although the Jefferson is never a high numbers game for trout, Late September fishing can be pretty solid.

Long Term Fishing Forecast:Fall fishing on the Jefferson can be solid. For dedicated streamer fisherman pulling bunny fur in October can produce some solid results. Don’t expect numbers but if you put in the time you can turn some nice browns.
