Current Conditions:

The Stillwater has been fishing well this summer. The June floods changed some of the river so be aware if floating. The reach between Absarokee FAS and the confluence with the Rosebud is closed to floating due to a pipeline in the water. Attractor dry and dropper fishing has been solid and should continue into early fall. Hoppers on the lower reaches are also worth trying. On hot days anglers should consider early starts.

The Month Ahead:

Terrestrial fishing and attractor dry action should continue through September.

Long Term Fishing Forecast:

The Stillwater can fish well into fall when the streamer game picks up, but some of the larger fisheries such as the Yellowstone tend to be a better option once we get into late fall.
