The Captain and crew had a decent week fishing kings on Fort Peck. Gary Rueb from Plentywood joined the Captain on Tuesday and Wednesday. Each day, they ended up catching one mature salmon along with some smaller immatures.
Then, Downrigger Dale joined them on Thursday. The activity increased with Rigger’s arrival, and so did the size of the fish! They boated a 22, 21, and 16-pound salmon, plus a smaller 5-pounder. All of the bigger salmon were caught on a Brads black jack filled with tuna behind a mirror flasher in 100 feet of water.
Salmon fishing is always a grind, but, once in a while, you have a day like Thursday!
