Sometimes, a kiddie pool is just too irresistible to avoid lying down for a summer nap in–at least it was for a big black bear in Virginia.
In July of 2020, according to an article by Lauren Johnson via CNN, Regina Keller was out watering plants in her yard and noticed the biggest black bear she had seen that year wander into her yard. She watched the bear test the water with its paw and then climb in her kiddie pool and lie down. She then realized it was a bear she had seen two years prior. Keller had been photographing wildlife in her yard for more than a decade, but this photo was just too summer vibey not to share.
“He wandered around the backyard… and went over by the pool and dipped his big paw in the water… and then climbed right in and laid down. He seemed so content and refreshed.”
So, for those of you who weren’t quite ready for summer to end here in Montana, this one’s for you. Also, if you own land you can hunt bears on, make sure you check around your kiddie pools if you have a bear tag when the weather is still warm during archery season.
