Come Join the Custer Gallatin National Forest

Bozeman, MT – September 28, 2022 – The Custer Gallatin National Forest will begin hiring for the 2023 season starting Sept 29, 2022, for a range of positions at different duty locations across south central and southeastern Montana and into northwestern South Dakota, including:  Camp Crook SD, Ashland, Billings, Big Timber, Bozeman, Cooke City, Gardiner, Livingston, Red Lodge and West Yellowstone, MT.  Temporary positions start sometime between April and June, and end in the fall of 2023.

 

Positions Available

Positions available range from GS-3 through GS-7 pay levels and are a maximum of six month tour of duty.  Positions include: Forestry technician (recreation), Biological science technician (plants), Forestry aid, Biological science technician (wildlife), Forestry technician (wilderness/trails), Forestry technician (timber sale prep), Forestry technician (fisheries), Maintenance worker, Range technician, Engineering technician, Archeology technician, Engineering equipment operator, Customer service representative, Hydrological technician, Automotive equipment dispatcher, Animal packer, Biological science technician (soils), and Cartographic technician.

2) The application period begins September 29, 2022, and will end October 6, 2022. During this period, search for your desired position, make sure to select your desired duty locations. Applicants should expect to be contacted around mid-December to mid-January.
