FWP News: PARFLECHE WORKSHOP TO BE HELD AT FIRST PEOPLES BUFFALO JUMP STATE PARK

GREAT FALLS – Learn how to make your own parfleche storage bag at a workshop at First People’s Buffalo Jump State Park. Parfleche was used by Native Americans to make a variety of different storage bags used for food, clothing, ceremonial items, and tools. Parfleche is an untanned hide with the hair removed. Learn to make your own parfleche bag during this program with Ranger Karlene. Registration required, limit 15 people for this class. The workshop will be held Sept. 23, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

The workshop is free for Montana residents; non-residents must pay an $8 park entrance fee. The class is weather dependent.
