A connection was made between a 42-year-old and a 20-year-old, and it was a surprise to both!
42-year-old British angler Andy Hackett was fishing Bluewater Lakes in France and snagged a 20-year-old carp hybrid, or goldfish, nicknamed “The Carrot”. The fish is unique because of its orange color and the fact that it weighed 67.5 pounds! After spending 25 minutes reeling in the giant, he did release it.
The Daily Mail reported, “It was 30lbs heavier than what was considered to be the world’s biggest goldfish, caught by Jason Fugate in Minnesota, US, in 2019.”
Hackett stated, “It was brilliant to catch it, but it was also sheer luck.”
